Motion Graphic Social Media Post
Creation Process
When it comes to motion graphics, Adobe After Effects is considered the industry standard in regards to software. Thus, using this program to create this prototype was an absolute no brainer. As previously mentioned, my experience with the program is limited so YouTube tutorials were very handy for this prototype.
Development
To start, I made the sky using a solid layer in light blue.
Then, using the pen tool I created two separate cloud shapes to go at the bottom of the frame. I added the drop shadow effect to give a ‘cut-out’ look and animate them on a loop.
Afterwards, I add the png of the new logo alongside another png of a digestive biscuit. Unfortunately, I could not find a proper image so I had to use a circular mask to cut out what I wanted specifically from the photo I had. To add a sense of motion, I animated the image to rotate on a loop.
Later, I used the ellipse tool to create the ring that the sun rays (made using the pen tool) would stick on. Similarly to the biscuit png, I animated a rotation loop to each sun ray.
Finally I used the pen tool to create the birds and animated them ‘flying’.
At this stage, the original plan I had for the logo location started to look weird. So I changed its position but I still could not decide. Instead I screenshotted each position and created a form to send to others for feedback or suggestions. In the end, the 4th option got the most yesses with the 2nd option having the second most likes.
There were two comments that caught my attention and I chose to make the suggested changes alongside the 4th logo position.
